Valentine's Day Decor Ideas

Hello friends -

I’m so excited to be part of a blog hop for Valentine’s Day with some other talented blogger friends. If you’re coming from Sarabeth’s blog -  The February Fox….welcome! Isn’t her home beautiful? Heather at Interior Swag is after me so I hope that you head over there next as I know you will be inspired with her ideas!

Well, it seems to be about this time of year - EVERY YEAR - that I get the itch to change things up. :-) So, with Valentine’s Day just around the corner - it is the perfect time to do just that.

This year, I’m focusing on bringing in blush tones to my winter decor as we get ready to celebrate Valentine’s Day. So…let’s go on a little tour…..

Dining Room:

I love decorating my table for each season. For Valentine’s Day, I’ve set the table adding red bowls, white napkins, brass napkin rings (check out my blog post on how I style with napkin rings here) and I’ve added touches of greenery around the table, too - because you know I love me some greenery!

I am using a faux fur table runner down the middle of my table because it ties in well with the chilly temps and clean look that I’m going for.

I’ve also placed two blush pillows on the end chairs to tie in my blush theme. Simple and easy!

Remember friends…you don’t have to go out and purchase all new things for each season…try tying things in with what you already have on hand…napkins, candles, faux greenery, dishes, etc. It’s the little things that make a big difference!

Valentine’s Day Decor - Dining Room

Living Room:

I have been looking for a blush colored picture to place on my mantle but just couldn’t find anything within our price range - so guess what? I decided to paint my own picture! I basically painted over the picture in this frame that I found at a thrift store for $3. (Check out the format I used in this blog tutorial - Easy DIY Wall Art.)

I also added blush pillows on my sofa to tie in with the picture, blush colored tulips and my favorite blush colored hydrangeas.

I’ve also kept my faux evergreen plants on the fireplace and stacked them on books to add a little height. Mixing greenery with real flowers is something else I love to do. Just keep playing around with your decor as there is no right or wrong!

I found this heart pillow and love the way it looks on our off-white loveseat.

For my coffee table decor - I’m keeping things pretty simple. I am using a vintage glass jar with hydrangeas and placed them in a basket with beads. I found this round crocheted black mat at H & M Home and it fits perfectly over this round coffee table to give it some texture and tie in with the other black tones in here.

I love using fresh flowers around my home in every season. Check out a recent blog post where I give you ideas in styling flowers.

Guest Bedroom:

If you’ve been following me on instagram, you know that I’ve been working on a guest bedroom winter refresh. I painted the ceilings black in here, added a new bed and brought in a few vintage items to go with this urban boho vibe.

This vintage desk was in need of a refresh, so I painted it blush pink. I am planning to make this my work station and so I hope to add a few more items in here (a small file cabinet and possibly hanging shelves). These pictures (above the desk) were in our basement bedroom so I moved them up here because they help to tie the colors of this room together.

This blush duvet (from Ikea) - was in my closet and I was so excited that it fits perfectly in here, too! :-)

I did purchase this new rug and I love how the colors help to tie in both the blush tones and the dark charcoal tones.

I will be sharing more about this room in the near future…so stay tuned for this! To shop any of the spaces that I’ve shown above…click here.

Thanks again for stopping by, friends! I hope I’ve given you a few ideas for decorating your home for Valentine’s Day or just a winter refresh.

Make sure you check out my other friends who have joined me on the blog hop - Heather at Interior Swag is next. Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
